Bike rides.
May 16, 2008
I have a lot of pictures from the past couple of days that I’m going to divide into seperate blog posts. Here’s a little ride I did on the 11th of this fine May.
There’s a nice 10km bike path from Lund to Södra Sandby. From there I went to Flyinge and then on towards Revingeby. It was great weather! Here’s a stupid windmill outside of stupid Södra Sandby. Just kidding, it’s not stupid. Just non-operational.
Here’s a nice creek coming into Flyinge. I bet there’s fish!
Here is the bustling center of Flyinge. All of it.
There’s an enchanted nordic forest right in the city, filled with trolls and magical haunted gravestones. Also, my bike poses by some dead dudes.
As far as I could tell, Flyinge was a city built by and for horses. I saw way more horses than people. I think it might be some kind of special community for horse-breeders and trainers or something. Either way, and though I’ll admit I don’t know much about our fine feathered friends, I KNOW for a fact that this mohawk-maned beast HAS MAJOR ‘TUDE!! AND A MOHAWK!!
I understand that there are “playing children” and you should “drive slowly” around them. I don’t understand where possessed halloween creatures gone horribly wrong come into the picture, though. This is a very common sign in Sweden.
Instead of saying “Thanks for visiting” or “10km to next town“, Sweden lets you know you’ve left city limits by CROSSING out the name of the stupid town. Later, Flyinge!
The only thing on this side of town are the bright-yellow flower fields of rapeseed. I now know that rapeseed is used for making rapeseed oil, or as I will no longer refer to it ever again, canola oil.
Back in Lund, I’m suddenly in a business park surrounded by INDUSTRY! Help! Seriously, these new fancy workplaces take up the whole northeastern part of town. It stretches way further than this picture can show.
